I have had centuryLink for 4 years now. I was initially drawn to this service provider based on their capacity and speed of service. Use of internet has been adequate in the suburbs. However, the seemingly only option for CUSTOMER SERVICE via ONLINE LIVE CHAT IS **HORRIBLE**. They are rude and completely useless. After hours of multiple attempts to simply schedule an appointment with a technician I will be switching companies.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Technicians that are supposed o set up your internet just leave a modem on your porch and make you call someone in a different country who has poor English, and hope they can walk you through the process. All this after making you pay to have a technician come to your home to do nothing but drop off a modem. The real kicker is you have to wait for them at your house from 830-430 pm but they don’t want to actually go in your house to do their job. It’s no wonder everybody talks poorly about them and their service, get your internet elsewhere.

I have had CenturyLink for years and although the speed is acceptable for rural locations, but if it goes out and service is needed don’t count on getting it back up soon. I have had my internet out for around 20 days and the ability to reach and speak with a live agent is burdensome and fruitless. The chat option they push you to as a faster option is also burdensome and does not provide answers you need. I had spent hours on hold, in chats, searching for direct customer service lines, etc all for not. CenturyLink does not care about customer service. They make promises they do not fulfill. I had been told a tech was on his way or will be there tomorrow and neither of which occurred. Then you fall to the bottom of a week or 2 waiting list despite you having a prior scheduled appointment they cancel. There is no respect for a customers time, frustrations, or needs. I would not suggest to anyone to sign up with CenturyLink and that if you have them to switch before your internet goes down as it’s only a matter of time.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced and that's saying a lot in this day and age. My 92-year-old mother's land line has been intermittently down for close to a month. It is her only link to the outside world. There was one appointment where they said it was fixed. It wasn't. The other appointments that were scheduled for "between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m." (how's that for a window) they never showed. Their website is a joke and there's really no way you can talk to a human being unless you're willing to stay on hold for an hour. There are at least two days of my life I'll never get back trying to get them to fix this. I have a half dozen other complaints but needless to say, we'll be switching providers.

We have needed to have a modem installed for over a month and every time we schedule and appointment, they still haven’t shown up to install. We have called 4 times and every time they have never showed, the customer service was horrible, the lady on the phone was rude and lied to us about what happened, she claimed that the installer had been at our house by 9 when he had not. I participate in online school and i am not able to do it at my house because of this, this is very annoying and I do not recommend.

Do not use Centurylink as your provider. You can’t reach a live person to talk to and I cannot sign into my app since they updated it. The service is spotty and I’m always dealing with my phone, tv and computer saying, “server not connected.” This company is the worst to deal with.

My family's internet connection has been out all day for multiple days starting this year. They said they were prioritizing the people who paid more so they had to shutout off so the people who paid more could have their service.

Installed service 2 yrs ago and was told I had price for life. But, no where on any paperwork did it say that. I asked several different people. They all said yes, I had price for life. My bill just went up by $10.00. I called and was told I never had price for life. Transferred me and was put on a different plan for $5.00 more for price for life. Again nothing in writing and they won't give me anything in writing. So I'm sure in 2 years or sooner they will raise my price, lower my speeds and tell me I never had price for life. I wish there some other service that was reliable and honest.
